Sue Hemberger

Actually, this isn't a roll and move game and it isn't a memory game. It's a secret identities racing game where movement is card-driven. There's lots of room for bluffing because some of the turtles are dummies (as long as you play with fewer than 5 players) and because each turtle advances any turtle stacked on top of it. Quick, fun game and a great choice for kids and adults playing together.

Turtle Race is a children's game with great wooden pieces. However, what makes it special, is that it is not just a typical roll-and-move game, it actually introduces lot of "game concepts" (hidden identities, card management, helping other players) to the children in a very fun package.

Schildkrötenrennen is not just your typical children's race game. My children have been playing with the game since they were babies (the turtles are really cute) and are now enjoying playing the game properly - that is with hidden identities and managing a (small) hand of cards. It is a great game that has given us many fun hours over the years.
