Il Principe (Il Prencipe)
From the Publisher...
Therefore, it is necessary for the Prince to be a fox to discover the snares and a lion to terrify the wolves. Those who rely simply on the lion do not understand what they are about. Therefore a wise lord cannot, nor ought he to, keep faith when such observance may be turned against him, and when the reasons that caused him to pledge it exist no longer."
(Nicolo Machiavelli, Il Principe, Chap XVIII)
To be a Prince in the Italian Renaissance is a brave and incessant struggle to conquer countrysides and fortify towns, and to win the confidence and favors of nobles and common people. ROBA
A fairly quick game with some unique mechanics. The same cards are used for several different functions - building cities, bidding for roles and final scoring. Only complaint is that the board is small and can get crowded. Well worth the money. |
