Now I do like Stratego, but this particular brand has one up on the classic French troops theme. This game is in the spirit of high fantasy, making one side the holiest Good army and the other curdling Evil. It's a well-produced copy of the game and every bit Stratego. |
As a kid, I used to like Stratego, and the Narnia version has everything that Stratego had plus extra powers! The best thing about it, is that the powers are actually very well balanced - I was worried that they would break the game. But it works beautifully and it is a nice theme too. |
I used to love playing Stratego when I was a child - it was a game with no randomness but much more varied and interesting than e.g. chess due to the hidden information. The Narnia version of Stratego keeps all the good elements of the classic game and adds special powers and a great theme - and most importantly, manages to keep these special powers balanced so that they adhance the game and add variety. |
