Our Comments...
An interesting trick-taking game where you must predict the number of tricks and their color. If you have really bad cards, you can be the "saboteur" and mess up everyone else's plans!

Trick-taking game where you have to guess not only how many, but also which suit of tricks you will take. I like the fact that you have to try to plan ahead, eventhough you are very dependent on the hand you get. |
This is a unique and challenging card game. I like trick taking games where you have to guess your number of tricks in advance, and Die Sieben Siegel does this so much better than others. They way you take tokens to indicate the tricks you are going to take is both a very clever way of avoiding bookkeeping and also means that you designate not just the number of tricks, but actually exactly which type of tricks. And the traitor mechanic just adds a nice dose of unpredictability in the bidding. Altogether a great game - possible the best of its kind. |
This is my father's favorite game, which means that I get to play it a lot too. The way the chits are used to indicate how many tricks you will be taking is pure genius and makes the bidding very visual and fun. The chits also function as a constant reminder of each players objective during the round, which makes it relatively easy to target individual players - with a very cutthroat and competitive game as a result. |
