Your payoff depends on the quantity and the quality of the letters in your word. | Buy Word is a very clever mix of a word game and an economics game. You use money to buy letters that are used to make words that you sell for (hopefully) more money. Whoever does this most efficiently wins. I really like the concept, and I would much rather play this then e.g. Scrabble any day. One of the really good things about it, is that the luck of the letter draw is mitigated by the fact that you pay more for high value letters - this makes it much more of a pure test of skills rather than an excercise in making the best out of what you happened to get. |
| The genius of this game is in the pricing of letters and words. It is constructed so that you have to invest in letters in order to get the chance to make long words that earn you more than you paid. I really like that the focus is on long words and that the luck of the draw is mitigated by the fact that you pay for the letters. A great alternative to Scrabble! |
