Cosmic Eidex ist eine Mutation von Jass oder auch Skat. Jass ist, wie erwähnt, der einfache Nährboden von "Cosmic Eidex". Deshalb ist die Erklärung der Besonderheiten von Jass gegenüber anderen europäischen Stichspielen unumgänglich. Das Spiel ist für drei Spieler. Jedem dieser Spieler wird vor Spielbeginn noch eine besondere Eigenschaft zugebilligt.
