Wings of War is a game series which merges card and board game mechanics to recreate aerial combat. The first series of Wings of War games focus on the "knights of the air" age, World War I, portraying the abilities of the fighting planes of this period.
Each Wings of War set is a complete game for 2 to 4 players, which may be combined with additional sets, or with other copies of the same set, to play larger games. For that purpose, 23 planes with different colors are included in each box. Each plane comes with accurate historical documentation.

| I bought this game for my 14 year-old son's birthday in early April. It has been played several times, and ranks up there with Bang! and Ticket to Ride as the favorite game right now. The game quality and artwork is good. Playability is also good, and the rules are simple. Each plane is controlled using a "manouver" deck of cards, with subtle differences in the performance of the different aircraft. These differences can be exploited to your advantage as skill improves (and grasp of vector math!!). The game concept is well thought out - the players have to plan their next 3 manouvers without knowing what the opponent is going to do, so there is an element of bluff and double bluff involved. We normally play 2 planes against 2 planes, and a game will last about an hour. Small gripe - it would be nice to get 2 sets of each of the manouver decks with the game to allow small "squadron" action - additional plane cards of each type are included, but not the extra manouver decks. We will be buying the 2nd game in the series ("Watch your Back") which introduces the 2 seater planes (and thus an extra dimension to the game and the possibility for some good scenarios). My sons and I are pleased with the purchase, and would recommend it for those wanting a basic (but entertaining !)introduction to aerial combat. |

| At the sale price this is a GREAT value. All three of my children enjoy flying their planes around the table. My eight year old has no problems with playing this game. It's simple and it's fun. As mentioned in another rave, you will need to purchase or make extra manuever decks to play any really big squadron battles. |
| This game is a complete blast to play. It has a very unique playing dynamic that keeps the action fast-paced. It's a surprisingly good flight simulation for a game so simple to learn. |

| this has become a huge hit with my group of friends. very realistic WWI dog fighting game which makes you choose your moves in advance. great for 1 on 1 or multi-player. a must have game!!! |
