Hare and Tortoise
From the Publisher...
Uh oh! You spent too much time eating lettuce and cannot now win the race.
But speed alone cannot win the game. As in the story of the hare and tortoise,
a player cannot win as the hare or the tortoise, but must balance the speed and
patience of each to win the race. Thus, skill and cleverness are more
important than luck in this race. Of course, luck may help, but you cannot
rely on luck to win the game.

This is really a classic that should not be missed - especially if you have children that have started learning basic math. |
This race game has become known for helping children to learn basic addition and substraction. It does do that in a fun way, but it is also a very tactical race gamein its own right. |

This is one of the best children friendly games I know of and can definitely played to a high level of skill. The great thing about this race game is that there are several wildly different tactics to choose from... one can try to stay in the front, using carrots regularly or hang back, saving your carrots for a huge windfall. The more saving you do, the more difficult and ridiculous it becomes to meet the strict win conditions (you can't win with too many carrot reserves!). Everything about this game is fun, and though the box says 3+ it also works well with two players (each player controls two racers). |
