A Touch Of Evil: The Supernatural Game
From the Publisher...
Tis the dawn of the 19th century; an age of science, superstition, and witchcraft. Howling fills the night as a full moon rises over the small, secluded village of Shadowbrook. Gruesome murders have become a daily occurrence and terror haunts the streets at night. An evil creature has taken up residence here and the countryside is engulfed by a tide of darkness. But all is not lost...not yet. A small group of heroic individuals, with the courage and strength to fight, have arrived in town. Some just passing through while others have come with a purpose; but all will be put to the test as they race to save this cursed town from falling into darkness. It will take a cunning mind and strength of spirit to determine who is friend and who is foe...to solve the mysteries and hunt the beast to its lair.
But the secrets of Shadowbrook run deep. Gossip and rumors run rampant and these few Heroes may soon discover that they are outsiders here and this town is already so rotten from within there is little left to save.

Though the skill level is medium, this game is a very well-designed and enjoyable monster hunt. The object is to be the first player to search out and kill an evil Villian (the vampire, werewolf, spectral horseman, or scarecrow in the base game), much like a noncooperative Arkham Horror - where the enemy can actually be beaten. To do this, the characters need to search around for items and investigation tokens (think clue tokens) to use for upgrading stats and making purchases. There's a doom track much like in Flying Frog's previous release, Last Night on Earth, as well as other superficial similarities to the previous game. Very much, however, is unlike Last Night on Earth - again, a stronger comparison is made to Arkham or Runebound. Enjoyable, a bit fiddly, and fairly light. I'm told the expansion adds much to the game if you enjoy it, and two additional villans are already downloadable from the company's website.
Also - this game comes with a soundtrack CD, much like Last Night on Earth. It just goes to show how much they care... |

A very beautiful game and a must if you like others like arkham horror and witch of salem. Plus you receive an exclusive cd with a soundtrack to listen to while playing |

Fun the first couple times but can move slow. Not a bad game but it is just a little underwhelming for our group. The production value of the game is great. We always get a good laugh when we listen to the included soundtrack. |

A Touch of Evil is the horror-story equivalent of Last Night on Earth. Instead of zombies in the country, it's werewolves, and scarecrows, and vampires and the like in an old "Salem circa witch trials" towne. It's a little deeper than LNoE, and cooperative. |

Nice "Arkham lite" game with plenty of flavor, easier to get into rules, and two modes of play. With four different villains that set the stage for each game, the base game has plenty to offer in terms of variety. |
