For many years knights, monks, thieves, and farmers attended to their activities without interruption. But now a mysterious wheel of fortune determines the fate of the things in Carcassonne. The plaque sends followers home anad famines must be fought. In addition, the players earn additional points when their knights collect taxes. A player who is in the right place at the right time can steer his fate in the right direction. For those players who are familiar with Spiel des Jahres 2001, playing the game will come easily as the wheel adds only a few easily understood rules, which offer a completely new game experience. Additionally, this game can be played with the original Carcassonne and all its published expansions for even larger adventures. Contents:

| Another great Carcassonne game, this is a good supplement to buying the original. One can play with or without the wheel, which adds an element of randomness (as well as strategy), making the wheel-free game a mirror of the original Carcassonne game. How can you go wrong? It's very fun, as its popularity and runaway success illustrate, and suitable to all players. |

| This is a reimplementation of the original Carcassonne with an expansion built in. It contains all the components and can be played as a stand alone or in combination with the other expansions. The wheel is an interesting mechanic that adds some randomness to the game (other than tile drawing). I'd suggest this expansion for completionists/collectors (like myself) and for new players looking to buy the base game with a built in expansion. |
