Citizens of Rome! Caesar demands ACTION! 64 A.D. Rome is in turmoil--the city has been devastated
by fire. Emperor Nero is racing back from Antium to start
rebuilding structures lost to the flames. Caesar expects your
aid in his historic effort to restore Glory To Rome. Contents:

In Glory To Rome you play a young Patrician hoping to gain influence
and fortune by helping to rebuild Rome after the great fire of 64 AD.
The object of the game is to gain wealth and power (Victory Points)
by both completing structures for Emperor Nero and selling the
building materials for your personal gain!

| Our new favorite game! We got this as a wedding present and have already played it half a dozen times. It's a game with tons of strategy but simple game play and non-intimidating artwork. If you like role selection games (puerto rico, race for the galaxy) then get this game. Enjoy! |

| Glory to Rome is a challenging card game that provides much more "gaming" fun then what may appear from the cards. Essentially, Glory is a slightly more complex version of San Juan (and Puerto Rico) in that players can use the cards for a number of different purposes --the card power itself, currency (to bring other cards into play), and markers or resources. Because of the variety of uses and the number of different cards, a "learning game" before you play "for real" with friends is recommended. Also, don't let the cartoonish art (Asterix anyone?) put you off. This is a refined, interesting game. Worse than the art, are the garish, bright primary colors used for the various 'suits' (roles) in the game. All that said, this game is a fantastic value and is highly recommended as a great deal that will be fun to play for folks 12 and older. |
