Cosmic Encounter
From the Publisher...
Build a galactic empire…
In the depths of space, the alien races of the Cosmos vie with each other for control of the universe. Alliances form and shift from moment to moment, while cataclysmic battles send starships screaming into the warp.
Players choose from dozens of alien races, each with its own unique power to further its efforts to build an empire that spans the galaxy. Many classic aliens from earlier editions of this beloved game return, such as the Oracle, the Loser, and the Clone. Newly discovered aliens also join the fray, including Remora, Mite, and Tick-Tock.
This classic game of alien politics returns from the warp once more. It features 50 alien races, flare cards to boost their powers, 100 plastic ships, a host of premium components, and all-new tech cards that let players research and build extraordinary technological marvels!

Good "light" duty game. Tons of fun with 6 players. The race powers add an interesting twist. Game mechanics such as allying make for plenty of player interaction. Although not so much a strategic game, it has a high fun factor in my opinion. |

This is our favorite new game, out of the box has a lot of ability to scale complexity up or down. Fantasy Flight has added a lot of new races and an entire new component (technologies) to the game. Fun from the first time you play it. |

This game is a blast. Everyone I have played this with loves it. Highly replayable given the amount of different alien races. Its a different dynamic each time. |

This is a great way to kick off a game night with friends. It's highly interactive and will create a memory for each player, win or lose. When you add in the alien races, you've really got a winning game that you'll want to replay right after the first game is over. This game is a classic for a reason! |

One of the towering classics of board gaming, Cosmic Encounter packs so much gameplay in that box with tons of alien powers and lots of card-slinging, deal-making, and back-stabbing in every game.
Seriously...you could just play the base game's aliens for years to come and still have plenty of gameplay in there.
This has been a hit with everyone I've ever introduced it to. This will always be a "10" for me. |

This game is an excellent diversion for anyone who loves variable player powers, and space. With 50 aliens in the base game, it has enough replayability so that I don't think it can ever get old. The fun starts when you realize some aliens work better together than you thought at first... |

Cosmic Encounter is the best boardgame ever for me, and my rate is again a 10. I consider this new FFG version not only as a simple reprint, but the perfect mix of the best parts of all the old versions of the game, with nice components. Furthermore I found the new (optional) Technology cards as a great improvement, with a simple but clever mechanic. |

Awesome game that is different every time you play it. |

I have played this game the longest of any I've played. A friend had his childhood copy of the Eon (1977) version and we played it constantly. FF's newest reprint is excellent. Keeps the spirit of the orginal, loses the cons from the versions in between. Let the chaos of the alien powers work its magic! |
