Chaos in the Old World
From the Publisher...
In the Warhammer world, four Gods of Chaos battle for supremacy. Khorne, the Blood God, the Skulltaker, lusts for death and battle. Nurgle, the Plaguelord, the Father of Corruption, luxuriates in filth and disease.Tzeentch, the Changer of Ways, the Great Conspirator, plots the fate of the universe. Slaanesh, the Prince of Pleasure and Pain, the Lord of Temptations, lures even the most steadfast to his six deadly seductions.
In the Chaos in the Old World board game, each player takes the role of one of the malevolent Lords of Chaos. Each god’s distinctive powers and legion of followers give the controlling player unique strengths and heretical abilities with which to corrupt and enslave the Old World. Yet, as the powers of Chaos seek domination by corruption and conquest, they must vie not only against each other, but also against the desperate denizens of the Old World who fight to banish the gods back to the maelstrom of the Realm of Chaos…for now.

Great figurines that would look awesome painted! The theme is like anti Pandemic...we want to corrupt the world instead of saving it and each god has a different role. I love how depending on which god you play your strat is very different. Khorne is very geared toward fighting and Tzeentch is balanced. This gives the game great replayability. The 2 people we played with were eager to play again. |

One of the best multi-player conflict games I've played in recent memory. A game where conquest is possible, but not required...a delicious blend of fighting, maneuvering, and wicked cardplay. Made with the typically lavish FFG standards, this one is a must-have. |
Dripping with theme, (highly) variable player powers, direct confrontation, multiple paths to victory, very balanced factions - what is there not to like? Chaos in the Old World is a game design masterpiece that belongs in your collection, provided you can regularly gather 3 other to enjoy the journey into the Warhammer world with. |

Amazing game, tense to the finish, lots of depth from the upgrade cards and asymmetric gameplay. |

Wow, do I love this game. It's fundamentally an area control Eurogame, but you'd never notice it underneath all the dice rolling, special powers, and theme. Actually, I'm not wild about the theme, but the mechanisms here are so good I'd play it even if it was about trading in the Mediterranean. Each character requires its own strategies, so this is at least 4 games in one, and the experience gets better as your group learns the subtleties. |

An incredible game. Straightforward yet elegant gameplay offers strong replayability. Immersive theme and great production. The gore factor can be a bit offputting, but once into the game, it all works together perfectly. |
