Each round players are dealt seven additional cards. For the first two rounds, each player will select four of these to put into play. In the third and final round, players can choose five of them.

Besides the unit cards from each nation, players may also get the chance to employ Wizards to protect a nation, catapults for surprise attacks or attack cards to send armies into battle.

Once players have chosen their cards, it's time for war! Each battle is carried out in order based on the number in the upper right corner of the attack cards.
