Archaeology: The Card Game   (View Game)

Fun game of collecting treasure. It is definately a filler, but it has more depth to it than first meets the eye. It has a large element of luck to it, and the game lies in deciding when to hold your cards and when to sell.

A good combination of set collection and push-your-luck. You always need just one more of a particular card when the sandstorm hits and forces you to discard.

This is a great little card game that gets a lot of playing time. I like it because it plays very well with two so my wife and I can play a quick game or two when we get the game-plying itch. It is also fun with 4 players. It has an element of risk as you debate whether to try for a bigger collection or play it safe against the sandstorms. It seems like everyone we teach ends up picking up their own copy.

In these hard economic times, we've turned to games for entertainment. It is by far cheaper and more entertaining that going out for dinner. Archaeology was a fun and quick card game. The whole family liked the art work and details, right down to placing the cards in the shape of a pyramid. It's not a matter of getting the larger point artifacts that win the game. You can win by collecting, and accumulating, smaller point artifacts. Every game is different and we like the unpredictability of it. Great game by Z-mann games!
