| I loved the base game and bought the expansion almost sight-unseen and have never regretted that decision!
This expansion adds more ghosts and Wu-Fengs, but the major change is the addition of villagers. Now, when you move around the village, you can bring villagers to the portal and use an action to whisk them away to safety. If you save an entire family, they give you a powerful artifact or some other bonus. Some players have claimed that these make the game too easy now. However, if any player of a family dies, they give you the good 'ol family curse which could range from losing a life all the way up to summoning Wu-Feng by themselves.
I love this addition because it layers the strategy that you need to employ to be successful; your movement is now doubly important and you have to think through all possible options. |
