This expansion is also worth getting (buy both). It fits in the box with the main game. While I don't find the military takeovers to be that consequential, the addtional cards, and especially the goals are worth every penny if you love R4tG. Which honestly you should, because it is awesome.

This expansion (both really) are worth having. All of them together still fit in the base box. The addition of short and long term goals really does add a lot to the game by offering even more choices and paths to victory. I highly suggest it.

Animeeples: Deluxe Euro Token Set   (View Game)

This is really a must have for Agricola. It makes the game much more visually appealing and easier for beginners. In my opinion, this is even more important than the animeeples, but really, you should buy both. I keep all my meeples in a little plastic bin I bought that fits in my Agricola box. Just do yourself the favor and buy this. You will not regret it.

I HIGHLY suggest buying this with Agricola. It makes the game much more visually appealing and easier for beginners. Well worth the money.

One of my top two games. This is not one for people who overanalyze everything, because there is A LOT going on. It has an amazing mix of turn by turn, move by move tactics, mixed with measured and long term strategy. Simply incredible. The best part really is the replayablilty. The sheer number of cards means you will really never have two games the same even though you attempt to do the same thing. Sublime. Additionally, I think this is one of the best solo games available. Scales flawlessly from 2-5 players as well. One item of note, I highly suggest buying the full meeple set if you can afford it. It makes the game visually more appealing and easier for new players.

My absolute favorite game right now. It is medium-light to get into the first couple of games as far as complexity goes. Say a bit more than Settlers. But boy does it pack a lot of strategy, fun and theme into such a little package. Plays well with 2 to 4. 2 player is awesome. The expansions add value as well. Plays in 30-45 minutes with multiple paths to victory. Seriously an awesome, awesome game.
