This is a good war game to bring out of the closet to play with people who are not board game players. It's a game to play with friend a lot of beer. Always welcome in the boy party nights |

Another classic game, oh all the tears spilt over this game - the treachery. Why did we keep coming back to this game as kids - because above all it was fun. A must have - one of the fundamentals in a game collection. |

Playing with the LotR version makes this game far more interesting for my wife and I (although we still like the original). We used to play this a lot, but now it seems that it doesn't get the play that it used to. Still, its an easily recommendable game; you should own it! |

Risk is a fun strategy game for all ages. Kids may find it boring but it's a great game to learn to play and a fun game to play, especially when you get good...infuriate your friends when they become your enemies...play Risk. |
This war game has stood the test of time and has spawned multiple variant versions. After trying several other versions, I do find a special appeal in the simplicity of this original classic. |

Risk is an enjoyable light "war game" with players beginning more or less randomly, depending on which rules/house rules they choose to play with, and seeking world domination. Risk CAN go on for more hours than any players desire, often after the exclusion of drop outs, but we all know what we're getting ourselves into. |
This classic game is still great. It has strategic choices (mostly due to the bonuses for continents), tactical choices and a moderate amount of luck. I find that many people overestimate the element of luck in Risk, since there are a lot of dice rolls involved - however, I believe that the game actually involves so many rolls that the results more or less even out over the course of a game - which means that the dice-centric combat becomes a fun and varied way to ensure that no two games are ever the same. |
