Civilization: The Board Game
From the Publisher...
Designed by Kevin Wilson, Civilization: The Board Game is inspired by the legendary video game series created by Sid Meier. Players are tasked with guiding an entire civilization throughout the ages, taking ownership of your people’s technology, economy, culture, and military, as well as all the choices that go along with them. There are four different paths to victory, and each is riddled with opposition.
In Civilization: The Board Game, 2-4 players take on the roles of famous leaders in charge of historical civilizations, each with their own abilities. Players will be able to explore a module game board, build cities and buildings, fight battles, research powerful technology, and attract great people by advancing their culture. No matter what your play style is, there is a civilization for you!

Holy cow! If you are looking for an immersive, deep, almost-painfully strategic game, this could be your fix! I enjoy the game, but I should add that I also enjoy doing my taxes and solving multi-variable complex math equations. If you don't mind a brain-burner and need a deep strategic game to fill half of your day, please do yourself a favor and pick this game up immediately! |

This is quite a good civilization building game loosely... LOOSELY related/descended from Sid Meyer's classic video games such as Civ II. Its only downfall in sheer length of gameplay, but for many purchasers this won't be seen as a negative whatsoever. |
I'm a long time fan of the computer game and have enjoyed every board game based on it so far. However, this latest attempt does seem to capture the feeling of the original the best - while still keeping the game fast moving and interesting for all players until the end. |

Each country plays differently and there are a lot of different ways to win. It takes about 2 hours to play. I never turn down a game. The best civilization game (at least the best under 5 hours). |
