Dixit
From the Publisher...
Great news. DIXIT from Libellud, the AS D'OR 2009 in Cannes will be available. You will love the pictures, and the simple and fast rules. 84 large cards, each one is a completely different pieces of art from Marie Cardouat who will bring you in the head of your opponents. What they say is what they think the pictures means, but they won't give it to you easy. The other players will try to catch you with their own cards. But not without trying to avoid the traps you just made. From 3 to 6 players and about 30 minutes.

This is a fantastic party game and German game of the year. I always like to keep my game collection balanced to accomodate different types of game-players. This game is suited for fun, creative groups. Not a lot strategy here, just crazy descriptions of interesting pictures. Even though this is not a strategy game it is still challenging. You can't give a clue that is too hard or too easy. Fun game to play regardless of whether you win or lose. |

Dixit is hands down the best party game out there. The game is simply a deck of cards with the most beautiful and bizarre artwork imaginable. Being the "story teller" is a lot of fun. This game can be incredible when you get people with different senses of humor and deep imaginations. There's already an expansion out so the game won't get boring. A top 100 game for a reason. A must have if you entertain guests. Enjoy! |

This is a light party game in the same vein as Balderdash... for art students, rather than English. The basic premise is that one person makes up a phrase or story based on a card in his or her hand (each card in the deck shows a surrealist painting, specifically designed for the game). Everyone else must choose a card in their hand they believe that phrase could apply to. Voting then takes places to determine who knows the right answer, and who's substitutes were guessed on. It's bad for the storyteller to make his answer too easy or hard (everyone else will score), best if only one person is clever enough or on the same wavelength. This is a very fun game that stays fresh for a long time, and two expansions have added to the deck since the original's release. I love this game and highly recommend it! |

Really an excellent game with a very simple premise. There is a lot of room for creativity, humor, and depth. This game really took me off guard at how fun it is with such a simple premise. |

If you like Apples to Apples you will love this game, if you like strategy in board games and enjoy are party game but hate apples to apples this games is also for you. This game takes that fun party aspect, but adds in a need for creativity, thoughtfulness, maybe even some guile. |
