Das Schloss (The Castle)
From the Publisher...
Four daring adventurers ...
... enter the old castle. Strange things have been said to happen there. After the entrance-door slammed shut, the first corridors are being examined. Here and there some precious things can be found inside old boxes. But there - a strange noise - the first angry ghost comes round the corner and wants to suck our life-energy! Draw your magic sword and slash him in pieces!
The adventure starts
Deeper and deeper you walk into that old castles corridors. The rooms get uglier, the ghost more nasty. Behind closed doors valuable treasures await. Secret corridors help you finding hidden rooms and the tricky castlemaster adds some nasty tricks!
How to play
Each player gets a players-card where he can put his items on. The floor-pieces are sorted by the level, same as the ghosts and treasures. Then each player draws a floor-pieces and so they build the first part of the castle. Now it starts. Draw a floor-piece and place it where you like. Put the shown things on it: items, ghosts etc. Now you can perform actions, like walk, fight, open a door, use a secret passage etc. Your action-cards help you with special things, but are only for one time use. So maybe keep them for dangerous situations. Or better not? In some rooms there are treasures and other items like weapons, shields, energy or even magic spells. With those spells you can teleport yourself to another room, fight better etc. Later some rooms have special features like secret passages, a life fountain or the above mentioned castlemaster. After finishing your actions you have to move some ghosts - of course in order to "help" your opponents. the adventure is finished when both the castlemasters brothers - of course ghosts - are defeated. Then the player with the most points (i.e. treasures, fought ghosts) wins the game.
Great material
All playing-pieces (except the cards of course) are made of beautiful wood - the floor-pieces as well as the game-pieces. Before the first game you'll put the stickers on the pieces and then a great looking and great feeling game is ready to play.
Again and again
Since the players build the castle from the floor-pieces with eaach each, the castle is different every time. The ghosts positions and the places to find treasures are also different every time, but always right placed. Therefore no game is like the one before and you have to change your strategy according to the maze. Sometimes it can be useful to use your action-cards at the beginning to get a better weapon, sometimes it can be more wise to keep them till the end to fight the castlemaster. Try it!
