Bohnanza
From the Publisher...
To Bean or not to Bean
Bean farming was never so much fun! In Bohnanza, you have two or three bean fields and a handful of bean cards to plant in those fields. When you sell beans, you earn more for growing more of any one variety than a few of several. Thus, you want to plant as many of your favorites as you can. But you must plant the beans in your hand in the order you got them. To get rid of the beans you don't want to plant, you trade them to other players for those you want. With clever trading, you get the cards you want without helping the other players too much. In the end, the player who earns the most gold is the winner!
This already expanded game has 11 bean varieties: enough for 7 players, but it also has rules for as few as two.
Now everyone can be a successful bean farmer

Bohnanza is a an offering from Amigo where the premise of the game is to plant and harvest bean fields. Plant as many like beans in each of your fields as you can, and there harvest them for money. The catch is that you must play cards in the order in which you drew them, and you may only have two bean fields at any one time! Players may also trade beans to each other; in fact, it is essential for doing well in the game. A great game a bargaining and trading that I would recommend to anyone! |

Bohnanza is a great game that scales well from 2 to 7 players. It is a very accessible game and one I have used to introduce our games to new players.
It also plays in less than an hour. That is good times. |

Bohnanza is a fun group game. I have played it with 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 players. I like it best with 4 to 6 players. This is a filler type of game where you can play a hand in 30 minutes. It is easy to learn and fun to play for both parents and children. Basically you are trying to make money, and you do so by selling beans. The more bean plants in your fields, the more money you will make. But sometimes you are forced to sell your field and you end up with nothing. |

If you're looking for a good group game for hard-core and non-hard-core gamers alike, this is your game. Not only is this a fun party game that allows for a LOT of interaction between people, but the two-player version is a blast as well. Don't let the theme scare you off, you won't regret buying this! |

This is one of the earliest game I was introduced to when I started my boardgame hobby. I revisited it recently and still have great fun with it. The trading coupled with the card sequence aspect of the game is one of the best that I was not able to find in many other games. |

Bohnanza is my favorite game! This is the game I give all my friends that aren't into gaming to get them into gaming. I especially love the 2 player version. My mom and I play at least once a week. In this game , you get to use your negotiating skills w/o being too brutal. Bohnanza is a very fun, fast paced card game, and VERY reasonably-priced as well. |

A great card game with lots of interaction as you trade with other players to collect sets of matching cards. You are presented with choices to make every turn (no mindless card play here), but you'll only have a few options so the game won't ever get bogged down.
Players need to understand that trading is the heart of the game so don't be shy about it. There will even be times when you want to give away something for nothing. |

Very fun, fast paced card game. It's a nice game to play with people who are not into high strategy games. I love that its different type of card game! |

This is a family favorite. Always a hit with anyone willing to give it a try. In this great interactive card game you are planting a varity of beans and harvesting them for victory points. This is a set collection game with some innovative and interesting mechanics. This is a card game you can take and enjoy almost anywhere. |

While this game my provide you with a difficult to understand set of rules once you get into the game you realize just how fun and easy it really is. Plant and harvest and trade until you win. Add this game to your collection. |

This is one of my very favorite card games. I love the interaction that it takes to trade and bargain with others. Sometimes you just have to donate cards to others in this set collection game because there are tough rules that limit the number of sets you can have. I love the artwork and quality of the cards as well. |

What can you say about a set collecting game where you win by giving cards away? A very clever idea that works great with children, and still lots of fun for non gaming teens to play amongst themselves. |

Was introduced to the game by a friend and I quickly loved how easy it was to play, but the interaction between players is what makes the game great! Don't play nice; play to win! |

This game can be a blast with the right group of players (outgoing people who do not take their games too seriously). Not a game for the very analytical. |

This easy-to-teach set collection card game has a silly theme and has been a hit with our kids and extended family. Get it! |

Family Card Game
What a fun and easy card game! Plant beans and harvest them for gold! Luck of the draw gives you "like" beans but beware having to harvest too soon. Suitable for all ages and plays 6 easily. |
Bohnanza comes in a card game format, but actually it is a trading game - you have very little control over which cards you play at which time, so you cannot win by managing your hand corretly. This game is all about trading and negotiating good deals with the other players, and the card game format makes this very simple and straight forward. Rules are fairly easy and the illustrations on the cards add a comic element that fits it very well. |

This was one of 18 games I purchased once discovering the whole new games market, and so far it's one of my "casual" group's favorites - even after their initial hesitations. The rules take a bit of getting used to, but once playing it's great fun! |
Bohnanza seems to be a card game, but that is really quite misleading. It is a negotiation and planning game, where you have to convince people to trade with you. It works very well for getting people into the spirit of trading, and I believe the cute artwork on the cards also contribute to this. It is refreshing to see a game that relies on direct trading and not on auctions. |

If you're into worker/efficient management games, this game will be a lot of fun. Each game is different and it forces you to adapt to the other players.
However, one of the biggest drawbacks of this game, and many games in the same genre (IMO) is that an experienced player will walk all over a newer player with the newer player having no idea why s/he lost. I think, in this game, there's nothing that replaces experience. It's not a huge deal, but it can be frustrating with some people, so keep it in mind! |

Although I don't particularly like the theme or artwork of this game, I do enjoy the game play. It focuses on hand management and interactions with other players. You have to play cards from your hand in order unless you can make a deal with another player. Otherwise, it will destroy your score and you will be forced to clear out your bean field. I also like the idea that beans are finite and once a person has scored it changes the statistics for the game. |
