David & Goliath   (View Game)

Growing up playing Euchre, the rules for this were non too difficult, but the decisions you make while playing I feel are much more difficult. A good game to make you think!

David & Goliath   (View Game)
   Randall Peek
This is a very interesting card game with some rather unique ideas. While having almost nothing to do with the story of David & Goliath, it does share a similar theme to the story, in that sometimes it is quite good to be large and sometimes even better to be small. Gameplay is similar to that of many trick-taking games, except that the spoils of each hand are divvied up between the player of the highest card - who takes every card but his own, and the player of the lowest card - who gets the big one. Why does this matter? Because at the end of the game, points are scored according to a very odd little rule. If you have only one or two cards of a particular suit you score their numeric value. If, however, you have three or more you score points equal to the number of cards taken in that suit. Take a couple high scoring red cards and for the rest of the round the other players will try to dump another red card in your lap, for one example. This is dynamic unlike anything you have tried before. The components of this game are quite simple, but the game is well worth learning and playing.
