| An under-appreciated gem, Tikal is about worker placement, tile placement, and area control. The game has a small, easy-to-learn list of rules which generate a lot of fascinating mechanics. As such, I put it in with Settlers of Catan or Carcassonne - hidden depth in the guise of a light, accessible game. Couldn't recommend it more! |

| This is a beautiful game with a fantastic theme. Who doesn't want to be an explorer for the night in search of temples and treasure. This area control game has a modular board which means plenty or replayability. A great addition for every game collection. |

| Tikal is a fairly unique game with interesting mechanics. It's a tile laying game, but you move your pieces all around and try to control areas. Lots to do on each turn but not overwhelming. Usually gets pretty intense late in the game! 2-4 players, by Rio Grande, Enjoy! |
