From the Publisher...

October 2, 1900 - 28 years to the day that noted London eccentric, Phileas Fogg accepted and then won a ?20,000 bet that he could travel "Around the World in 80 Days". Now at the dawn of the century it was time for a new "impossible journey". Some old friends have gathered to celebrate Fogg's impetuous and lucrative gamble - and to propose a new wager of their own.

The stakes: $1 Million in a winner-takes-all competition. The objective: to see which of them can travel by rail to the most cities in North America - in just 7 days. The journey begins immediately...

Ticket to Ride is a cross-country train adventure where players collect cards of various types of train cars that enable them to claim railway routes connecting cities throughout North America.

Easy to learn, easy to play. A great way to introduce non-gamers or new-gamers to the German type game environment.

Terry Carr - Fair Play Games
Really easy to learn, almost contant action, never a dull moment!!! If you like games with strategy but were turned off to the length of the game or complexity of the instructions, well... try Ticket to Ride. It offers plenty of strategy yet easy enough for young and old to understand. Every time we've played it, we always had to play 2 or 3 times because it was so much fun.

Orion
It's really easy to learn. It's sort of a combination of Settlers of Catan and Pirates Cove. My family played it for the first time a few dyas ago, and we absolutely love it! My brother plays it every day at lunch with his co-workers.

Janeen =)
This a great game to play with children or adults. I love the little trains you get to place on the track/routes. Also, Days of Wonder have included 5 extra trains just in case you lose one or two pieces!! The rules are so simple...only 2 pages!! I hate rules! I never can understand them, and theses rules are very comprehendable. Ticket to Ride is fast becoming a favorite!!

John Mccord
Ticket to Ride has great balance between skill and some luck. Its become a family favorite because of the great play and components.

GMan
Great family game. For beginners and experienced gamers alike. Plays equally well with 2 to 5 players. The included Days of Wonder on-line webcard is an added bonus that allows you test your skills on-line vs. players from around the world.

ann gallagher
My family loves playing ticket to ride usa and I would recommend it highly.

octavio morales
this is my favorite train game. My sister is not a gamer and loves it too. the components are very nice and the pace is very fast. there is no downtime.

John
A simple game to learn and play. Not too long, and pretty fun.

Jicapo
This is our favorite game. It involves luck and strategy so it doesn't get boring and works for a variety of ages.

danbillings
Always fun to play with people who aren't hard core strategy minded. Easy to explain and easy to setup.

Greg Hodur
Couldnt be a more simple game to pick up. had my girlfriend who never plays games play this one and she loved it. collect cards of different train cars, use them to claim routes in north america. the longer the route, the more points. i cant wait to have her try the expansions to go with it! Love it!!!!

Tim Park
I'd like to echo that this easy-to-learn game has been a great introduction to non-traditional games for a lot of my friends and family. A delightful game with a great theme, and a superb gateway game.

Stephen B
This game is great. Fun to play, quick to learn, lots of strategy with just enough luck to make a new person feel welcome. Enjoy this great game.

Curt Carpenter
This is the go-to game for introducing family and friends to the world of modern boardgaming. Rules are simple, everyone has fun win or lose, and it can't drag on and on. With more advanced players, there is the opportunity to bluff, interfere with other players, etc. But for beginners, they can just worry about completing their routes, without worrying too much about what other players are doing. Groans and laughs are still guananteed to be heard, and routes are claimed which accidentally force someone to reroute their trains elsewhere to connect their cities.

James
Simple and elegant. Upon first reading of the rules you may assume just too simplistic, but upon play a subtle depth is exposed. Great for beginners and veterans alike.

Ryan S.
A light game that still has me opening the box to play on a regular basis. The easy to learn game mechanics and strategy invlolved in the game makes it a great choice.

Crystal R.
Ticket to Ride was one of my first boardgame group games. It is an easy to learn game that involves completing train routes to different cities using different colored train cards. It is an award winning game because it is easy enough to learn and play and is a lot of fun.

Shara_33
Just learned how to play last night! LOVED IT! Just bought two- one for us and one for Christmas presents! So very easy- whole family can play, even little ones. Great with four players! Wish there were more trains, though. Draw cards that determine where you have to assemble trains. Different colored routes require different cards. Collect like colored cards and redeem to build your route(s). Allow card drawing and building on your turn to make the game go faster. FUN FUN FUN!!

BBM
A very cutthroat game if played by people of equal skill. I like the simplicity and the need to think ahead - although the luck of the draw can ruin that at times.

Lorena Holmstead
A great family game. The playing time is reasonable, the turns go quickly, and there is variety because of the route changes. Can be won by children as young as seven!

Dog
I learned on the Europe edition, which has a greater ruleset beyond the different map, but the original Ticket to Ride is still great! This is a fun game for gamers and nongamers alike and very easy to pick up and enjoy.

Elizabeth
I just played this game the other night with a group of friends it was so fun! I am buying it now so that I can play it with my family when I am home for Christmas. You will love this strategy game!

A.J. Sansom
I love the way the game looks; I love that I can teach it to my old college roommate or to my aunt and grandma just as easily; I love that the games are quick and fun and light. If you've got some non-serious gamers and maybe even a few that are, this could be the game to bring them together.

Laura
Fun family game and takes only 30 minutes to play.

Mitchell Rowekamp
Gateway game! Easy to teach to anyone above the age of 6 in my experience. This is the best version to teach people how to play as it has the least complicated rules.

Daniel Cepeda
The game that started it all! The TTR series is great! Every one of them is a winner. In the base game, you'll be building rails across America. It has great theme, great pieces, and it's fun for all ages!

Hal
My family and I love this game. One of my 11-year-old daughters has been requesting it daily, and we've had it for about 3 weeks. An excellent intro to strategic thinking.

Girl in Space
Great gateway game! It's simple enough for casual gamers to pick up and has enough strategy to keep hard-core gamers entertained. There's definitely some luck involved in the draw of the train cards, but regardless, the game will usually go to the more experienced gamer. Definitely clutch for every game collection!

John
Great starter game for people who aren't gamers. My mom loves this game and we seem to have to play every time I visit. She's learned to play the other variants but this is the one that gets played the most. The far western routes are much harder to complete than the eastern ones because there are less connections between cities.

Greg Burbidge
The gateway drug to european games. Whenever I am trying to introduce people to euro games, I always start with Ticket to Ride. Easy to grasp and addictive, it becomes a great entry point to introduce games like Catan.

Josh Clemson - CABS
This is THE game to buy if you want a board game that appeals to casual gamers and the more hardcore alike. Whenever I visit my parents this is the game they ask me to bring over. It can be simple, or it can be cutthroat, it all depends on who is playing.

Chad
Ticket to Ride is a great gateway game. By gateway, I mean a game to get other "non-gamers" into thematic style games. It is really easy to learn and no one is ever eliminated during gameplay. I used this game to get my wife involved in gaming and then went on to other themed games like Last Night on Earth.

Travis
Excellent game to play with family! Fairly quick and different every time. We must have played 15 games in 5 days. Good strategy but easy enough for kids.

Corey
Addictivley amazingly fun! The only family game I have ever played that feels so entertaining! It's got good mechanics, quick rules and gameplay and a way of really sucking you in. This game is a MUST have for ANY gamer or gaming group. You'll play and play and play...and then play some more!

Marcin - T2Riders
Ticket to ride is one of the most enjoyable, competitive games for players of all ages, my friends and I are in our 20's often prefer this over a lot of other activities. If you have not tried ticket to ride, you need to!

Davester
Very fun and easy to explain gateway game. I highly recommend to anyone who is just starting to get into gaming or wants to bring new players into gaming. Still among my favorites today.

Victor Garrison
Third favorite family game as of 2013! I actually enjoy this more than Settlers/Catan but the rest of the family prefers Settlers. Game play is simple and length of play 45 mins - 1 hour is good for this game, though I may create a shorter house version for my wife who enjoys games more if they're under a 1/2 hour. Looking forward to getting the Nordic edition.

K
Another train game! I've only played one train game though. The short and long term goals create intent on railroad building, but the passengers allow for extra points on the side. You never know who will win in the end.

Ryan
This game has such a quick and easy mechanic to learn, but its strategy is complex and interesting. It's a great game for 2 people that also works well with a larger group (up to 5).
